Where fashion gets down to business

For its first designer collaboration, fast-fashion retailer Forever 21 partnered up with L.A. designer Brian Lichtenberg for a collection of tees and tanks. To celebrate the launch, the collaborators threw a rooftop soiree at the Beverly Center’s top-floor terrace.
While Lichtenberg’s designs are often derived from a glittery, club-kid aesthetic complete with cut-out, body-conscious silhouettes that are equal parts futuristic and fantastical (we’re still recovering from that “Gremlims” skirt), for the Forever 21 collection, the designer dialed back a bit and focused more on graphic prints and distressed treatments to bring out the glam. One of the standouts in the collection is the Lady Gaga-reimagined caution-tape top.
Much like attending one of the designer’s over-the-top runway shows, guests strutted in many of Lichtenberg’s designs, while tunes spun by DJ Lindsay Luv transformed the party into a makeshift dancefloor. A lovely gaggle of local fashion bloggers was also in attendance, and partygoers got a chance to play designer with a DIY table to re-create their own tees.
