Where fashion gets down to business

The recently concluded season of “Project Runway” had a decidedly western slant. None of the three finalists are from California, per se, but winner Gretchen Jones is from Portland, Ore., Andy South is from Hawaii and fan favorite Mondo Guerra is from Denver…at least, for now.
Project Rungay bloggers Tom Fitzgerald and Lorenzo Marquez recently spoke to Guerra, who said he’s considering a move to L.A.
The designer showed during L.A. Fashion Week at the Los Angeles Millinery Guild show at the Biltmore hotel, where he was cheered on by fellow “Project Runway” contestant Michael Costello, who is based in Palm Springs and has shown his collection at BOXeight at L.A. Fashion Week in the past. (L.A.-based designer Jerell Scott—another “Project Runway” alum who has also shown his collection at BOXeight--was also on hand at the Millinery show.)
Guerra showed a tiny capsule collection this season in L.A. Let’s hope he does move here so we can see a full collection. Based on his work on the reality show, his quirky, sophisticated style would fit right in and be a welcome addition to our community.
