Livity Remodels Its Eco Style

New exterior for Livity Outernational flagship

Ready for the eco-Home Depot? The organic Urban Outfitters? That’s how Isaac Nichelson describes the remodeled Livity Outernational flagship store which took a bow Nov. 5 at 2401 Lincoln Blvd. in Santa Monica.

Nichelson, the founder of Livity, said the shop would cover the all of the bases for those seeking to live an eco-friendly lifestyle. It sells Livity brand hats, outerwear, T-shirts and basics for men, women and children. It offers one-of-a-kind furniture constructed out of sustainable materials by local artisans, as well as gardening tools and Vital Earth’s brand potting soils and mulch.

Nichelson said the remodel made for a roomier flagship, the place took its first bow in March of this year. To add more stretching room, he took down Livity’s administrative space, which had been connected to the store, and thereby doubled the flagship’s selling space to more than 2,200-square-feet. Along with paintings and art inspired by African tribal peoples and reggae music, the flagship features work from Malibu industrial designer Jeff Casper, whose creations have recently been displayed at Fred Segal Santa Monica’s Conveyor boutique.

Casper built a unique 8 by 10 rolling door for the Livity’s flagship’s entrance. The door is constructed from reclaimed redwood planks, it rolls on rollerblade wheels and it is covered in a green epoxy, which includes ingredients of hemp and PET, some basic building blocks for eco-fashion.
