Satisfy Your Vintage Vibe

Fridays in the Fashion District have been chock-a-block with sample sales at the hundreds of showrooms in the area.

But there aren't a lot of vintage sample sales. That's all changing this Friday and Saturday (Dec. 10 and 11) with a curated pop-up vintage marketplace in the penthouse of the Cooper Design Space at 860 S. Los Angeles St.

It is organized by A Current Affair, which will have more than 20 vintage retailers set up on the top floor of the historic building. The show is curated by Richard Wainwright, a private vintage dealer, and Joey Grana, designer and owner of the Scout label.

Their first show at the Cooper Design Space bowed in September during Fashion's Night Out. This one is for the holidays. For full disclosure, I recently bought a Scout vintage piece. It was a beautiful DKNY trench coat in mint condition and sold for only $25. Now that's a bargain.

The shopping sounds super fun becasue there will be cocktails. On Friday the sale is from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. On Saturday, the doors open at 10 a.m. and close at 5 p.m. There is a $10 entrance fee.

So, when you get tired of looking at new merchandise, wander on over to peek at some of the vintage pieces that are usually well-constructed and made of high-end fabric.
