Grand Opening for Hale Bob's First Store

The Hale Bob label, known for its flirty tops and dresses made of rich silks and velvets, has been around for several years. It's found in specialty stores around  the world.

Now the Los Angeles brand has its own flagship store. The Hale Bob store at 104 S. Robertson Blvd. opened its doors on Oct. 25, but it is having its grand opening on Thursday night.

The party is being held in conjunction with Elle magazine and will be replete with a host of celebrities. The event is to benefit The Art of Elysium, a charity for children battling severe medical conditions.

At 2,800 square feet, the store, designed by Philippe Puron, has a very clean and modern look. Marc Springer, Hale Bob's director of marketing, said this is just the first of many stores for the label founded by David Bohbot, who moved from France to Los Angeles in 2001. "We just wanted to get our feet wet," Spring said.

The new store has been likened to a laboratory where the label will test its retail concept and see which products sell well. Next year the company hopes to open stores in Europe and the Middle East. "Belgium is one of our biggest markets, believe it or not," Springer said, adding that Hale Bob recently entered the Australian market.
