Imagine seeing all these paper hangers, on repeat, at The Gap at The Grove.

In the last minute Christmas shopping rush at The Grove, I noticed that The Gap had these cool cardboard hangers made by Ditto throughout the whole store. To see such a massive quantity of cardboard silhouettes like this in one space, it makes you think about how many plastic hangers were saved in the transition.

Oakland-based Ditto makes hangers and other POP displays using recycled, recyclable, renewable and/or bio-based materials. Because the hangers are so slim, they claim that you can fit twice the amount of clothing in the same closet space. Which probably makes them even more attractive for retailers to be able to pack more size runs on one rack.

According to the Ditto facebook page, (the definite source of information these days!), “The Grove store is the second in a series of reimagined GAP stores, all part of their revolutionary LA Project.” 

Gap seemed to have particular local pride too, with a sign front and center at the store entrance boasting that their denim was "Designed in LA."
