Show and Sell: Fashion Week in Downtown

L.A. Fashion Week continues to evolve and change. This season there are a variety of parties, independent designer presentations and a few organized fashion weeks. Downtown will be a busy place as designers gear up for Fashion Week and Market.

Fashion Group International's "Meet the Designers & the Muse" event on March 17 will kick off the fashion festivities at The Standard Downtown on March 17. To celebrate L.A. Market Week, Directives West will present its "First.LA" runway show highlighting L.A. design talent and the California Market Center will hold an opening night reception on March 19. With BOXeight's "Fashion: Refocus" event taking place over the weekend and the newly formed CONCEPT fashion week from March 22 to 24, suddenly there is a lot happening downtown. Here are the recently announced schedules for BOXeight and CONCEPT. For more details on events at the California Market Center and other events around town, see the Apparel News calendar

BOXeights "Fashion: Refocus" held in partnership with Los Angeles Confidential Magazine and L.A. Models promises to be an artsy affair. For those interested in going behind-the-scenes, the arts collective will hold the second edition of its photo installation event at the BOXeight Warehouse from March 19 to 21. Talented photographers including Ben Cope, Steven & Laura Duncan, Peter Gurnz, Robert Sigler and August Bradley will be shooting some of L.A.'s leading designers.
