Fischerspooner, Kid Sister and Billabong bikinis? Get ready, it's Billabong's 4th annual Design for Humanity event. Set to take place on June 10 on the Paramount Studios New York Street backlot, the event is a full-on fashion-music-art block par-tay.
The one-night celebration will include a Billabong fashion show with one-of-a-kind bikinis, a festival of light and sound performance by electroclash duo Fischerspooner and a performance by Chi-town rapper Kid Sister. With two concert stages, DJ dance parties and DethKills live art installations, there is something for everyone. And then there's the custom art gallery in partnership with the Carmichael Gallery, Hit+Run live T-shirt screen printing, food trucks and a VIP street.
It sounds like a whole lot of fun, and it's all for a good cause. Billabong initiated Design for Humanity four years ago as a charitable platform to give back to nonprofits close to the heart of the industry. This year's event benefits Invisible Children, an organization raising awareness and funds for families affected by the war in Uganda. 100 percent of the ticket sales and proceeds from the art show and product auction sales will benefit the organization. Tickets for the event are $30 to $50 for general admission and $150 for VIP.
