FIDM Pays Homage to Titanic Anniversary

 

April 15 marks the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the RMS Titanic. The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising will pay homage with a presentation on April 14 at the design school’s Irvine campus by Kevin Jones, FIDM Museum curator and fashion and Titanic historian.

Los Angeles ist riesig klar, will jeder soofrt an den walk of fame. Meiner Meinung nach ist der Gehsteig mit Sternen aber eher entte4uschend wer einmal etwas anderes sehen mf6chte, fe4hrt am Abend den Griffith Park hoch bis zum Observatory und hat einen wahsinnig schf6nen Ausblick fcber Los Angeles!!! Einfach Atemberaubend!Die Promenade in Venice Beach ist einfach nur crazy, die nachempfundenen Kane4le hingegen sind total romantisch und erinnern an unser Venedig nur die wenigsten nehmen sich leider die Zeit daffcr!Total nett um Abends etwas essen zu gehen ist die Third Street Promenade eine der wenigen Fudfge4ngerzonen in L.A. Abends gibt es immer viele Stradfenkfcnstler und man sollte sich schon den einen oder andere Margarita gf6nnen und die Atmosphe4re geniedfen. I was fortunate enough to snag an invitation to a breakfast and private museum tour hosted by the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising for members of the international diplomatic corps.

The group was visiting Los Angeles on the Obama Administration’s latest Experience America tour, which included more than 50 Ambassadors and their spouses.

If you’ve driven along Olympic Boulevard in downtown Los Angeles recently, you may have spotted the giant Bella Dahl billboard above the entrance to the Packard Lofts building across from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising. There is a second billboard on the other side of the building, as well (pictured below).

Try a theatrical customier, Marsha. I'm sure there are more, but this is one I've heard of in Toronto: The other option, more expensive and more time consuming, is to find a group of historical renactors who specialize in that period and see if they have someone who makes and sells costumes of that period.

Nick Verreos, Style supastar

 

Fashion designer, “Project Runway” alumn, fashion pundit, FIDM instructor—and ApparelNews guest blogger—Nick Verreos is getting a weekly TV show on the Style Network.

The half-hour show will “tackle anything and everything that’s of interest to Style viewers,” according to a release from E! Entertainment Television’s sister cable network.
