The fashion and lifestyle week featured runway shows from designers David Meister and Rachel Roy on Oct.5 and Oct. 6 respectively. The fun will wrap up this weekend with runway shows at Irvine Spectrum and Fashion Island.

The extensive list of music artists turned fashion designers is growing, with a number of pop stars recently collaborating with design houses or announcing plans to soon be featured on racks alongside established designers like Madonna, Gwen Stefani and Sean "Diddy" Combs.

Joking that his loose lips might land him in court, Tim Gunn, Project Runway co-host and Liz Claiborne chief creative officer, gave a rare display of dish on the show that made him famous. Tim’s foray into refreshingly frank talk took place on a hot afternoon April 16 at a runway show at Fashion Island retail center in Newport Beach, Calif.

Shoppers, like the crowd pictured above at South Coast Plaza, scouted for big deals on Black Friday. 

The news coming out of Black Friday sounded like a resounding triumph.

The occasion was the grand opening of the 2,500-square-foot Elie Tahari boutique at Newport Beach’s Fashion Island retail center. Elie Tahari himself made an appearance at the Sept. 30 gala.

Shopping is becoming a competitive game when it comes to who can offer the most for "Fashion's Night Out."

Yes, the Beverly Hills stores will probably win with their huge Ferris wheel on Rodeo Drive, available for a free ride to anyone who produces a shopping receipt during the Sept. 10 event.  But the people at Fashion Island in Newport Beach, Calif., have a few things up their sleeves too.

Northridge Fashion Center

Fast fashion giant Forever 21 keeps growing. On June 28 it was announced Forever 21 will expand its 5,000-square-foot store at Northridge Fashion Center to a two-story, 25,000-square-foot store. The big emporium will open this fall. Northridge Fashion Center is a General Growth Properties mall located 27 miles north of downtown Los Angeles.
