Matthew Zink, the former design director for Victoria’s Secret Swim and Shoe division, struck out on his own to build the Charlie by Matthew Zink swim label. The 1970s-inspired line made a splash and it has been placed at retailers such as Barney’s, Intermix and Kitson. On May 15, Zink made his first West Coast appearance at the Kitson in West Hollywood, where he showed the 2012 Charlie by Matthew Zink Spring Collection.

Kitson started the holidays with a splash. The high profile Los Angeles-based boutique chain opened a new store Nov. 18 in the stylish and affluent town of Santa Barbara.

The Coke versus Pepsi wars will never be over. Their latest battlefield: Kitson.
The high profile pop culture/fashion shop on Robertson Avenue produced a big event for the 125th anniversary of Coca Cola in May. It was studded with appearances from actors such as Chace Crawford, Coca Cola drinks were passed around the party and prominent T-shirt label Junk Food made a vintage Coke tee for the occasion.

Junk Food Clothing hosted a lively birthday bash at Kitson on May 17 to celebrate Coca-Cola's 125th anniversary since first bubbling up in Atlanta in 1886. The pairing of the classic American soda and the hipster T-shirt company devoted to U.S. pop culture provided the perfect excuse to indulge in Rum and Coke's in the comfy and casual Kitson courtyard.

Kitson Malibu at the Malibu Lumber Yard retail center
Summer 2010 should be a hit season for the high-profile Kitson boutique chain.
On June 10, the boutique chain's owner, Fraser Ross, opened a Kitson & Kitson Kids store. It’s located in a 1,700-square-foot space at the luxury retail center Malibu Lumber Yard in Malibu, Calif. One-half of the store will offer kiddies’ clothes; the other half will sell women’s accessories and shoes.
