This cocktail party is a little loud.
Can you stand another “Mad Men” fashion update? Of COURSE you can!
After last night’s season 5 kickoff, we now know the year is 1966 and at least one character was wearing a minidress—a saucy little number in chiffon with pleated angel sleeves.

The fifth season of “Mad Men” kicks off on AMC on March 25 and I, for one, can’t wait. When the series began, it was set in 1960 and last season concluded in 1965. No word on where—or, more precisely, when--the show will pick up.
The season 5 cast photos on the AMC website offer few cues. The men are still in mostly dark suits with skinny ties. The women are in sheath dresses or shirtwaist styles. Sadly, there’s not a Nehru jacket or miniskirt in sight.

Some gigs have all of the fun. Along with designing the Kennedy era look for the award winning cable series Mad Men, costume designer Janie Bryant co-designed a 65 piece collection inspired by the show for Gap Inc.‘s Banana Republic stores.
Bryant appeared at an Aug 11 launch party for Banana Republic’s Mad Men at The Grove retail center in Los Angeles.
