As a longtime wedding dress designer, Elizabeth Dye found she was often dressing the same couples as menswear designer Duchess Clothier. This month, they decided to make it formal with the opening of their new showroom in the heart of San Francisco’s Mission District.
“I have been talking informally with Duchess about collaborating for years,” Dye said. “We end up dressing a lot of the same weddings – we seem to attract the same couples!”

Drum roll please....
The first batch of designers headed for the new "Designers in Residence" program housed inside the Macy's at Union Square have been named.
The six designers, who all live in San Francisco but come from spots around the world, will be the first lucky ones to take part in the just-launched Fashion Incubator San Francisco, which has an incredible program.

Levi's Workshop Print space scheduled to open July 1
One of the latest steps of Levi’s labor-celebrating Go Forth campaign will be all wrapped up in ink and print.
The venerable denim brand will open a temporary printing workshop July 1 on the 500 block of Valencia Street in San Francisco. The 4,500-square-foot space is located on the former storefront of the pioneering restaurant The Slanted Door, which has since moved to San Francisco’s The Embarcadero district.

Academy of Art University debuted the collections of recent graduates on the runway during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York. Innovation is key for the San Francisco-based design school, which has been premiering graduate collections at New York Fashion Week since 2005.
