Santee on a Saturday

 

LA Observed has a fun video of Saturday shoppers at Santee Alley in L.A.’s fashion district. It’s always crowded during business hours, but especially so on the weekend. The video captures just a bit of the breadth—and depth—of merchandise available from jeans and handbags to hats and wigs.

Holiday Shopping in the Alley

If you really want to see where the holiday shopping throngs are congregating, try visiting the venerable Santee Alley in the heart of the Los Angeles Fashion District. Wedged between Santee and Maple streets, the four blocks with a bazaar-like atmosphere is known for everything cheap and trendy or kncoked off.

Fashion District Gets a Makeover

Shoppers in Los Angeles' Fashion District have seen improvements to Santee Alley, bus stops and even sidewalks thanks to a project spearheaded by the Los Angeles Fashion District. The $1.3 million project culminated this month with the installation of custom crosswalks at the corners of Los Angeles and Olympic and Main Street and Olympic. In total, 12 intersections received special treatment.
