E-Commerce was Made for Snark

“A: This is going to be the weirdest wedding ever. D: At least they invited Sad Panda."

I’m going to have to create a bookmark tab for shopping snark sites like Regretsy, Anthroparodie and now this tumblr site: Heavy Browsing. (Hat Tip to the always entertaining blog The Hairpin.)

Posted on As a Scentsy consultant, I am in many homes with a rviaety of decorating styles and I've seen a lot similar to the above creations . Before I go to my hostess' home for her party, I ask her what her color scheme or decorating theme is so that I can bring a warmer that would be a good fit for her to use as a display or gift. MANY times they ask what do you mean? We have all sorts of colors and decorations. When I enter the home, I see they are serious! At least when I leave the Scentsy warmer, they will have at least one classy piece of decor.

Shopping for Charity, Divine Design

Costume Designer Patricia Field received the Iconic Fashion Visionary award from Darren Star, producer of Sex and the City.

As the auctioneer Vanessa Thanos at Divine Design said, you can’t take it with you to the grave. Thankfully for Project Angel Food, the Hollywood industry crowd that came to the annual Divine Design’s fundraising gala last night was generous. The live auction rallied more than $40,000. And they are just getting started.

Whoa! I did the same (I think they must have oneepd the floodgates for all to join Beta at last) and hadn't been getting comments... but figured it was a combo of Xmas pressures and Art Basel Miami, meaning there were better things to do than read and comment on blogs. But I tested my beta system and all seems to be working well. Unfortunately, our family blog was also included in the upgrade and now all must sign in again... bugger! KJ

Tonight, Big Shopping Event in WeHo, Fashion Society Pops Up

Exterior of The Fashion Society pop up shop.

West Hollywood shopping always was pretty good, but it  became red hot over the past few years, what with top flight designers such as Alberta Ferretti and Vivienne Westwood coming to town and high fashion shops like Arcade setting down stakes.

Put the Pepper Spray Down, People

There’s been another pepper-spray shopping incident, 10 days after Walmart shoppers in Porter Ranch, Calif., were attacked in what was described as a case of Black Friday “shopper’s rage.”

Now, we’re hearing about a new incident, this time in a Nordstrom store in Walnut Creek, Calif. In the recent case, shoppers pepper sprayed a thief who was trying to abscond with $10,000 in purloined purses and detained him until the police arrived.

The First Day of Christmas Lasts All Week!

First there was Black Friday, then came Cyber Monday. This year, several retailers kicked the Holiday shopping off on Thanksgiving night, although there’s no consensus on a catchy name for it (may I suggest “Early Bird Thursday”?)

Now off-pricer Liquidnation.com is getting in on the first days of Christmas race with “Restock Tuesday.”

Zero the Hero

“Each [online] transaction is a potential mine of valuable personal and financial information for the cybercriminal.” Yikes! (Image of X-Men character Storm courtesy of the Marvel Universe Wiki)

It’s not often I hear a call for a “global cyber nation,” much less one that comes from a “global cloud security leader.’ But today—on Cyber Monday—I did.

Watch where you surf, employees!

Westfield Statford City Sums it Up for You

Yes,  it's fantastic. Yes, I found it on The Hairpin. Yes, I wish I had that red suit. And that yellow dress. But mostly, I wish I was going to the Sept. 13 opening in London. It's sure to be fab.

Howdy! I know this is somewhat off topic but I was rewdoning which blog platform are you using for this site? I'm getting tired of WordPress because I've had issues with hackers and I'm looking at options for another platform. I would be great if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.
