Overheard in the aisles, Agenda is like the new ASR. The newest edition at the Long Beach Convention Center on January 5-6 showed the breadth of categories that were merchandised roughly by skate, streetwear and surf brands in the cavernous cement floored space.

In follow-up to our (hypothetical) Apparel News boardshorts last year, Santa Monica-based custom shorts maker Shortomatic bro-hugged with Vans to spawn Vans Powered by Shortomatic. The template is Vans’ Era Classic boardies that follow similar style lines of the brand’s iconic shoe. The custom possibilities: awesome and super awesome.

With R&B vocalist Faith Evans singing, with philanthropic power couple Magic and Cookie Johnson presiding, the Nordstrom at The Grove retail center was the site for a private fundraiser shopping event on Feb. 18.
Proceeds went to Magic Johnson Foundation, which benefits organizations providing “economic empowerment" for urban communities.

As “HBIC of Hellz,” she’s a pied piper leading women’s streetwear fashion for girls with opinions. Her latest project to hit the stores is two exclusive shoe styles in collaboration with Vans.
