Cecilia Prado: Next Stop Macy's

   

Cecilia Prado having a busy season! The Brazilian designer showed for the first time at the Miami Swim Show in July, then headed to Las Vegas in August for a return showing at Project. This week, the designer is in Los Angeles, showing wiht a group of Brazilian designers at Designers & Agents at The New Mart.

I Love L.A.

 

You know what I love about Los Angeles? Craftsmen bungalows. And industrial streetscapes. And the random appearance of Ferris wheels.

Apparently so does Michael Sy, architect, graphic designer and—full disclosure--my longtime friend.

Michael has a line of T-shirts, pillows—and, I just discovered, ties—embroidered with many of the things I love about L.A.—plus much more. (I’m digging the sneakers tee and the one with the retro touch-tone phone, too.)

Chemline Hosts Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Designer Showcase

Women’s contemporary brand Chemline is rallying a collective of designers for a shopping party that sounds like the fashion version of a farmer’s market co-op. The event will be held at Chemline’s studio/retail front in Los Angeles’ Chinatown district and will showcase local designers that use organic, sustainable or recycled materials.
