Brands and retailers are hoping you'll be in the mood to shop in the midst of stalking your friends (and let's face it, former friends) on Facebook. The latest to take advantage of the social network's new shopping capabilities is Anthropologie. Today they uploaded their new catalog to Facebook and it's pretty cool.

It’s probably the most artificially-intelligent, super-smart a notebook can get without a battery. The Fashionary sketchbook is both a blank-paper sketchpad and a reference guide full of technical garmento definitions and construction details.
Designers get to hold onto that romantic experience of hand-sketching in a notebook at the neighborhood coffee shop and be technically on point down to the seams and stitch specifications as if using a CAD program.

Today, Apparel News' mailbag held a little treat for me: an advance copy of Nina Garcia's new book "Look Book: What to Wear for Every Occassion." Garcia, of course, isn't a newbie at telling people what to wear. She has has written three other style books and is Marie Claire's fashion director as well as a judge on the Lifetime reality series Project Runway.

Fashion blogger Emily Schuman of Cupcakes and Cashmere in handpicked pieces from Planet Blue
Los Angeles retailer Planet Blue has teamed up with local blogger Emily Schuman of scrumptious fashion blog Cupcakes and Cashmere to create a summer loobook inspired by 1950s pinup girls and Americana.
Shot on and around the Santa Monica Pier, the lookbook captures the essence of summer on the boardwalk as well as Schuman’s sunny blonde locks and effortless, girl-next-door style.

San Francisco–based contemporary fashion e-tailer Tobi employed the sartorial skills of stylist Taylor Jacobson for a Spring lookbook featuring Jacobson’s denim collaboration with Kasil paired with handpicked selections sold on the site.
The former Rachel Zoe assistant envisions a Spring that highlights a tough-chick aesthetics with loose knits, leather jackets and plenty of jeweled hard-wear. (Modeled by fashion blogger Liz Cherkasov.)

Only in Los Angeles are there collectors with enough rare pop culture vintage T-shirts to fill a nearly 400-page picture book (that’s more than 650 T-shirts). Out from Taschen this month is the succinctly titled book, “Vintage T-shirts.”

Fashion e-tail site Nasty Gal, based in the Bay Area, has become a one-stop shop for fashionistas’ killer outfit needs. The site pairs vintage finds with on-trend, new contemporary apparel, accessories and footwear. The site’s proprietress, Sophia Amoruso, styled Nasty Gal’s latest vintage lookbook and unleashed it on to the site’s YouTube channel.
