Thankfully for Project Angel Food, the Hollywood industry crowd that came to the annual Divine Design’s fundraising gala last night was generous. The live auction rallied more than $40,000. And they are just getting started.

Made for Good was on hand at West Hollywood’s Palihouse hotel this week to showcase their Spring 2012 collections as part of L.A. Fashion Week. The location was fitting – if there’s anything Hollywood loves, it’s a good cause.

In celebration of the (supposedly) first female foosball figure named Ella, cool furniture showroom Ford & Ching hosted a tournament using the luxe shiny foosball tables featuring all-women players. The buy-in was $100 per team, with 100 percent of the entry fees donated to Keep a Breast Foundation. And last night the fashion showroom and brand sales forces that came out to support were in it to win it.

Well, last night was the first elimination round for “Dancing with the Stars.”

The professionals did an opening number that was choreographed by one of the female dancers, Lacey Schwimmer. Hot dance number. Lacey was a former contestant on “So You Think You Can Dance” a few seasons back.

Interior designer with impeccable taste, Vanessa De Vargas had us at her blog titled, “New Obsession: Staffordshire Porcelain Dogs.” So when De Vargas along with Vanessa Kogevinas rallied her friends to redecorate 30 rooms at the Good Shepherd Center for Homeless Women & Children, the result can only be amazing.

Punk-inspired brand Kill City has launched a holiday jean swap to benefit the homeless. As part of the program, shoppers are being encouraged to bring their used jeans to the Kill City retail store in West Hollywood for up to 40 percent off a new pair of jeans. The used jeans will be donated to the Los Angeles Mission. Total win-win situation.

Online pop-up shop Cutdrop.com is hosting weekly sales featuring contemporary designers and will donate a portion of the profits to a charity of the brands' choice.
The sales kicked off Oct. 19 with up-and-coming L.A. brand Seneca Rising, which will be one of the designers on the runway at Gen Art Fresh Faces in Fashion at Rock Fashion Week Los Angeles on Oct. 29. Some of the proceeds from Seneca Rising sales went to Fashion Targets Breast Cancer.
