One of the first things that struck me about the Jean Paul Gaultier retrospective exhibition at the de Young Museum in San Francisco is the chatter. On my recent visit, the chatter came not from the shoulder-to-shoulder crowd, but from the mannequins.

Listening to NPR this morning I caught a story about a pair of sisters--Claribel and Etta Cone--who recently donated their vast collection of turn-of-the-20th-century art to the Baltimore Museum of Art. It wasn't until the interview turned to the subject of how the Cone sisters could afford to buy such treasures, that I made the connection to the sisters' surname. Cone sisters=Cone Mills, the denim giant in Greensboro, N.C. Ah-ha!

The Los Angeles County Museum of Art is opening a new exhibit this weekend that's sure to provide plenty of creative inspiration for costume designers who pride themselves on cutting-edge originality.

During my recent trip to New York to cover the men’s trade shows, I got a chance to check out the Japan Fashion Now exhibition at the Fashion Institute of Technology’s Museum at FIT. I loved it so much, I told a friend when she went to New York. And now—since the exhibition has been extended until April—I’m telling you. GO.

Lady Gaga wax figure at Madame Tussauds in Hollywood and Perez Hilton
I don't know whose outfit was more amazing for the reveal of the new Lady Gaga wax replica in Madame Tussauds in Hollywood.
While Lady Gaga's attire was skimpier, Perez Hilton's was more fuzzy and pinker.
