The World According to Gaultier

One of the first things that struck me about the Jean Paul Gaultier retrospective exhibition at the de Young Museum in San Francisco is the chatter. On my recent visit, the chatter came not from the shoulder-to-shoulder crowd, but from the mannequins.

Amy, We Found Your Bracelet

(The L.A. Times calls this a “delicate diamond bracelet,” but I think it looks more like Carrie Bradshaw meets Jacob the Jeweler.)

Are You King of the World? And do you have at least $189 million and fancy yourself a steward of history? You’re in luck!

On April 11, more than 5,000 items and artifacts recovered from the Titanic will be auctioned off by Guernsey's Auction House in New York.

An Art Collection With a Denim Connection

Listening to NPR this morning I caught a story about a pair of sisters--Claribel and Etta Cone--who recently donated their vast collection of turn-of-the-20th-century art to the Baltimore Museum of Art. I loved it so much, I told a friend when she went to New York. And now—since the exhibition has been extended until April—I’m telling you. GO.

Pretty Things

There’s still time to find new inspiration in old Europe.

While everyone was shopping over the holiday weekend, I dropped by the Los Angeles County Museum of Art to see—for the second time—the “Fashioning Fashion” exhibit at the new Resnick Pavilion.

Lady Gaga Unveiled in Wax

Lady Gaga wax figure at Madame Tussauds in Hollywood and Perez Hilton

I don't know whose outfit was more amazing for the reveal of the new Lady Gaga wax replica in Madame Tussauds in Hollywood.

While Lady Gaga's attire was skimpier, Perez Hilton's was more fuzzy and pinker.
