In Peru, they have been using color and animal prints as long as people have been wearing clothes.

LACMA Director Michael Govan interviewed Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte as part of LACMA's Director's Series on January 18. The sisters recently donated their Fra Angelico Collection to the museum's Costume and Textiles Department and spoke about the influence of art, film and literature on their designs. The collection is on display through February 5.

Designers get inspiration from a million sources - the runway, strangers on the street, muses, interior design, art, food, travel, Lady Gaga, whathaveyou.
EZ Textiles is another option. With more than 25 million images, EZ Textiles bills itself as "the world's largest online library of production-ready, royalty-free digital textile designs." We haven't checked their math, but dude - there is some really cute stuff on there.

When I first saw the images in a recent Daily Beast story about men who lounge around in their brightly colored and printed head-to-toe Lycra suits, I figured it had to be a joke. After all, I’ve been around, I live in L.A., I’ve got some crazy friends, but this was the first I’d heard of Zentai suits.
But a quick Google search confirms it. Zentai is for real.
