Famous for its grunge roots and outdoor appeal, the Emerald City—Seattle—is also well-known for its uber-relaxed style, indie flair and youthful attitude. WGSN recently trawled the neighborhoods of Capitol Hill, Pike Place and Ballard and also attended the Critical Mass bike ride to discover the cool simplicity of Seattle style.
For bicyclists and skaters, the look revolved around fitted graphic tees or slim-fit tanks paired with rolled denim jeans. Faded colors and earthy hues offered a strong, vintage look.
Girls' styles encompassed loose layering and an off-beat mixing
of tops and bottoms. Key looks included layering shorts and skirts over leggings, high-waist hippie bell-bottom denim jeans, and '40s-style lace blouses. Sportier looks included muscle tees paired with acid-wash jeans and the combination of cardigans and cut-off shorts.
