Freudenberg Picks Up Duro Interlinings

Freudenberg Nonwovens L.P. has reached an agreement with Duro Industries to pick up that company’s Handler-Interlinings division.

Fall River, Mass.-based Duro is in the process of refocusing its business on its dyeing, finishing, printing and coating divisions targeting the apparel, industrial and military markets. The company has carried interlinings since it purchased the division from Handler in 1999.

This is the second strategic move for Freudenberg this year. The local arm of the German company announced in January that it had formed an alliance with QST Industries. That deal included consolidating the two companies into the local headquarters of Chicago-based QST in Vernon, Calif., as of February. Sales reps for QST and Freudenberg now carry both companies’ lines.

Freudenberg carries a wide range of products, including interlinings, embroidery products and other nonwovens for the apparel industry.
