Bayer Retains Dorlastan, Promotes Radermacher

Pittsburgh-based Bayer Corp. has announced plans to retain its Dorlastan spandex fiber business, after considering divesting the division from the company.

Dorlastan is manufactured through Bayer’s Fibers, Additives and Rubber division in Charleston, S.C., and is used in clothing such as intimate apparel and swimwear.

Bayer’s international counterpart is Bayer Faser GmbH, based in Dormagen, Germany.

The company has also promoted Dr. Michael Radermacher to managing director of Bayer Faser. Previously, he was senior vice president of fibers in the Fibers, Additives and Rubber division. Radermacher is succeeding Klaus Schrewe, who is retiring after 34 years with the company.
