Gouge Garners Global Distribution

San Clemente, Calif.-based Gouge Clothing, a surf, skate and snowboarding manufacturer, recently expanded its distribution to Japan and Australia through licensing agreements created by San Diego-based International Licensing Corporation (ILC).

Jim Alfaro, chief executive officer and founder of Gouge, said that the grass-roots brand has managed to expand into Japan’s hardcore skate and surf market as well as Australia’s young men’s and juniors market while staying true to its roots.

Gouge was created in 1987 in Alfaro’s garage. Today, the brand is found in surf, skate and snowboarding stores of all sizes with a mix of men’s, young men’s, and juniors’ apparel and accessories.

ILC is the exclusive licensing agent for Gouge as well as for Hang Ten and Lightning Bolt. —Darryl James
