CFA to Host Apparel Summit Luncheon

The future of the Los Angeles apparel industry will be the topic of an upcoming forum hosted by the California Fashion Association (CFA).

The forum, “Apparel Summit: Assessing the Future of Apparel Manufacturing in Los Angeles County/Recent Rulings and Their Effects on the Apparel Industry,” will be held on June 26 at the California Market Center (formerly the California Mart).

The free event, which is sponsored by Manatt Phelps Phillips LLP and California Apparel News, will feature Stephen Smith, director of the California Department of Industrial Relations, and California Labor Commissioner Art Lujan as guest speakers to discuss the impact of Assembly Bill 633 and other labor compliance–related issues.

Other speakers include Los Angeles County Economic Development Corp. vice president Barry Sedlik, who will give an overview of the region’s economy, and Stan Levy, partner at Manatt Phelps Phillips, who will discuss labor-related legal issues in the apparel industry.
