Quiksilver Makes Roxy Donation to City of Hope

Huntington Beach, Calif.-based surfwear giant Quiksilver has donated 1,000 of its Roxy brand scarves to the City of Hope’s Positive Image Center. The scarves were given to more than 120 cancer patients during a recently held “scarf-tying” ceremony at the City of Hope’s campus in Duarte, Calif.

At the event, each patient was told to select a scarf and was taught different tying techniques. The ceremony was part of the Positive Image Center’s efforts to help cancer patients cope with the physical effects of their treatment.

The scarves were specially made for City of Hope using patterns featured in the Roxy line. The remaining Roxy scarves have been given to the Positive Image Center. —Alison A. Nieder
