FBI Hosts Local Civic Reception

International trade and the possibilities for apparel will be on the agenda at a reception hosted by the Fashion Business Incubator for the “World Trade Through L.A.” reception on March 26 at the Los Angeles World Trade Center.

The event, co-hosted by the office of Mayor Jim Hahn and the Los Angeles Office of International Trade, aims to promote Los Angeles as a trade resource and will feature free 15-minute business and trade counseling sessions.

Agencies participating in the business and trade counseling sessions include Hahn’s L.A. Business Team, Los Angeles Minority Business Opportunities Council, Los Angeles Opportunities Procurement and Services, Los Angeles Office of International Trade, the U.S. Department of Commerce and the California Technology, Trade and Commerce Agency.

The Los Angeles Fashion District Business Improvement District, the Korean American Garment Industry Association and the Textile Association of Los Angeles are among the dozens of organizations participating in the event.

Karen Kane, Guess? and Quiksilver will be among the apparel manufacturers modeling their wares at the event.

The Los Angeles World Trade Center is located at 350 S. Figueroa St. in downtown Los Angeles. Registration for the event, which runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., costs $20, and there will be food, door prizes, entertainment and a raffle drawing.
