Mocha Lounge Showroom

Gerry Building Suite 403 (213) 239-8833

The popularity of alternative lounge areas and live DJs spinning discs at fashion trade shows has provided inspiration to reps looking to create similar vibes in their showrooms. Inside Mocha Lounge’s 13,000- square-foot loft space, owner Jeff Murrell, who moonlights as a DJ at some of Los Angeles’ premier hot spots, keeps two turn– tables turning and a live microphone churning to entertain clients during market week.

Mocha Lounge’s showroom on the Gerry Building’s fourth floor has a lot to offer buyers in search of urbanwear, streetwear and loungewear for men and women. And, Murrell is always on the lookout for new, cutting-edge collections that represent those lifestyles. He reps three lines: OK47, a tops-driven men’s and women’s loungewear and streetwear collection ($14–$30); Modrobes, a men’s and women’s loungewear and streetwear collection featuring tops and bottoms made with microfibers, twills and cotton ($15–$25); and Technics, a tops-driven streetwear and urbanwear collection for men and women ($12–$25).

The lines have drawn interest from buyers at alternative boutiques Dungarees in Los Angeles and Villains in San Francisco, as well as specialty chain stores Mr. Rags and PacSun. —Claudia Figueroa
