Owens and Lamy Spotlighted in Home Design Book

Influential Los Angeles duo, restaurateur Michele Lamy and designer Rick Owens, who are among the 15 couples profiled in a new how-to book on home design, hosted a book signing at Lamy’s trendy Les Deux Cafeacute;s in Hollywood on Nov. 1. Authors Erica Lennard and Denis Colomb were on hand to sign “Living Together: How Couples Create Design Harmony at Home,” while attendees, including fellow local designer Henry Duarte and hair wizard Vidal Sassoon, lingered over martinis and appetizers in the cozy atmosphere of the bungalow-cum-restaurant.

“It was obvious to us that they were a couple to include in our book,” said Lennard, who picked couples based on their tastes and interests. “Their worlds are so complementary.”

Buzz has heated up in the last year for Owens and his easy-fitting, body-covering silhouettes. This year, he staged a fashion show only in New York, but he said his tune is changing. “Since all the editors travel so much, I wanted to make it easier for them and show in New York,” he said. “But, now that a lot of European designers have opened press offices here to work with celebrities, that gives me reason to have a show here.” —Nola Sarkisian-Miller
