Hartenstine Named to AAFA Board

Apparel industry executive Warren Hartenstine has been named to the board of the American Apparel & Footwear Association’s (AAFA) Supplier and Resource Division (SRD), the technology section of the non-profit trade association.

The AAFA is the sewn product industry’s voice in Washington, D.C. Its mission is to promote competitiveness and profitability in the global market by minimizing regulatory, legal, commercial, political and trade restraints.

Hartenstine, a former Gerber Technology executive, will be president of the SRD Services Group and will represent dozens of technology companies, including his new firm, Walter Wilhelm Associates LLC, in helping to guide the AAFA through future endeavors.

“I look forward to the challenges we are facing as our industry navigates through a changing business climate,” he said in a statement. “The new breed of software systems offers many competitive advantages to manufacturers and retailers alike.” —Robert McAllister
