CLAD Show Set for DMLA Event

The Coalition of Los Angeles Designers (CLAD) will host a fashion show called “Zendurance” at the annual architecture and interior design fund-raiser Design Meets Los Angeles (DMLA) to be held on Sept. 14 at the Japanese American Museum in downtown Los Angeles.

The show will feature Los Angeles-based designers Naqada by Octavio Carlin, Nikolaki, Mhope, Mona & Co. and San Paredes. The designers will show key pieces for Holiday 2002 as well as highlights from their Transition/early Spring collections. Stylist John Murphy will serve as production manager for the show and I Nuovi Cosmetics’ creative team will style the makeup and hair.

The event is co-sponsored by the Los Angeles chapters of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the International Interior Design Association (IIDA). The two organizations host the DMLA event each year. Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit the Amie Karen Children’s Cancer Fund.

The event will also feature a musical performance by Mediterranean Beat, as well as cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, dancing and a silent auction. The evening’s activities begin at 6:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased by calling (213) 639-0777 ext. 78. —Claudia Figueroa
