Sweater Company Expands to New Digs

Knitwear maker Sweater.com is relocating its corporate headquarters from one seaside community to another.

The 1-year-old company, which is now in Marina del Rey, Calif., has signed a 6-year lease agreement with Metro Management for a 3,000-square-foot facility at 1526 Cloverfield Blvd. in Santa Monica, Calif. A Sweater.com spokesman did not disclose the price of the deal, but he said it will nearly double the size of the company’s current facility. Previously, the space was occupied by Frank O. Gehry & Associates Inc., which recently relocated to 12541 Beatrice St. in Los Angeles.

Sweater.com co-owner Bruce Gifford said the move comes on the heels of a company expansion.

“We’re increasing the size of our operations, and we need more space to house more people,” he said.

Renovations are underway and will be completed by the end of August, Gifford said. —Claudia Figueroa
