With Love … From: Redondo Beach

With Love hellip; From: Redondo Beach, a line of contemporary leisurewear and resortwear, launched in May 2003. The line is a division of parent company Michael Alexander, which manufactures a misses clothing line.

Matt Jacobs, the designer and creator of With Love, wanted to create garments with “soft and luxurious fabrics that are easy-towear— the kind of stuff that you curl up in on your couch on a Sunday afternoon.”

The line includes tanks, T-shirts, hoodies and sweats in 2 x 1 rib, French terry, jersey and lightweight jersey. The pieces have novelty and surface details such as grommets and twill tape, camouflage tape with stars and gold-star patches.

Sizes range from S to L (the equivalent of 2 to 12). The rise is a little higher and the hips are roomier than those of other contemporary styles, so a slight misses customer could also wear the line. Wholesale prices are $14 to $29 for long-sleeved T-shirts and hoodies, $9 to $16 for tanks and short-sleeved T-shirts, and $26 for pants. The company also plans to introduce velour and satins, new types of trims and tapings, and a screen-printed logo in the official script font of the brand name.

First deliveries began in late July and will continue through September. Specialty stores—including Fred Segal Hollywood Trading Co. in Santa Monica, Calif., Hotel del Coronado in San Diego and Montana Mercantile in Santa Barbara, Calif.—have already picked up the line. Jacobs said the company also plans to expand into department stores.
