Paragon Becomes Porini USA in Distribution Deal

Westlake Village, Calif.–based Paragon Business Systems Inc., which provides business management solutions to the apparel industry, has officially become the American distributor for Italian company Porini Srl. and has changed its name to Porini USA Inc.

The Paragon entity will continue to market its own products as well as those of Porini, which is a global leader in providing collaborative enterprise solutions to the apparel, footwear, textile and home furnishings industries.

Porini’s products include its G-Tex enterprise resource planning products, which help companies manage product-development steps such as forecasts, prototype development, quality control and CAD/CAM operations. Its Moda-Tex software addresses logistics, costing and cost controls.

“We’ve always been a small company with good product, but it’s been difficult for smaller companies to compete in today’s economy,” said Paragon Chief Executive Officer Ken Gould. “We’ve been looking for a larger company to partner up with, and this was the one. We couldn’t be more excited. We’re now a total solution, from CAD [computer-aided design] to PDM [product data management] to ERP [enterprise resource planning].”

The partnership also puts Paragon in the company of leading textile-design business Nedgraphics Inc., which along with Porini operates as a subsidiary of Blue Fox Enterprises, a $90 million publicly traded company listed on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.

U.S. clients for Porini include Hanes Menswear Inc., Sebago Inc., London Fog Industries, H.H. Brown Shoe Company Inc., Quaker Fabric Corp., Ramtex, Wearbest Fashion Inc. and Mohawk Industries Inc.Robert McAllister
