Revamped Op Online

Ocean Pacific Apparel Corp. has revamped its Web site, www.op.com, to accommodate its continued growth in multimedia, said a company spokesperson.

In addition to company news, pictures and product highlights, the site also includes monthly promotional giveaways, quarterly sweepstakes, discussion boards, video content, and historical, event and retail information.

Op recruited writers from Surfline, Transworld Surf, Surfing, Surfer, URB, Vice Magazine and Bpm Culture Magazine to contribute to the Web site’s content.

In an effort to tap multimedia markets, Op’s site will soon add music links to record labels such as Warner Bros., Naked Music and Om Records.

“Op remains committed to the California lifestyle we helped create,” said Michael Marckx, vice president of marketing and advertising. “We see [the site] as a natural progression and extension of our initiatives through our core partnerships with Surfline, Surfing and Surfer, as well as our developing relationships with cultural publications such as URB, Vice and Bpm.”

Founded in 1972, the privately held maker of surf, skate and snow apparel, footwear, wet suits and accessories has three additional sites: www.opclassic.com, www.opseven-2.com and www.opgirlslearntoride.com. —Claudia Figueroa
