Rock da House

It was only a matter of time before the action-sportswear industry got in on the Los Angeles Fashion Week action. Rock da House, which took place on Oct. 27 at Quixote Studios in Hollywood, delivered a fun, sexy mix of punkrock looks by action-sportswear companies and contemporary labels Billabong, CAT Footwear, Catelle, Dickies Girl, Dragonfly Clothing, Harveys, Luscious by Rebecca Ford, Sacred Blue, Split, Volcom and Prophetik, among others.

The bill of fare at the event included a plethora of entertainment options, from graffiti artists, skate ramps, and apparel and accessories vendors to an all-star musical jam featuring Eric Balfour of “Six Feet Under,” Alice In Chains’ Jerry Cantrell and Cypress Hill’s Sen Dog.

On the runway, women’s screen-printed shirts in cutout and mesh styles were paired with pleated miniskirts. Men’s dress shirts with Western-style yokes and embroidery were coupled with stiff denim styles. Proceeds from the event will be donated to Covenant House California, a nonprofit organization serving homeless and at-risk youth. —C.F.
