Downtown Fashion Walk

Several local designers opened their studios on Dec. 6 for the second Fashion Walk at the Maxfield Building in downtown Los Angeles.

The event showcased a cross section of Los Angeles designers. Offerings included jewelry, lingerie, shoes, handbags, contemporary womenswear, childrenswear, vintage-inspired clothing, dog clothing and stationery.

Annamarie Firley of ReVamp and Michelle Landry of Lucy B Lingerie organized the Fashion Walk. Firley said she was inspired to create the event after attending the Echo Park Art Walk.

“I thought if people are interested in seeing how artists do their work, maybe people would be interested to see how designers do theirs,” she said.

“There are so many designers and artists in this city, and no one knows that they exist.”

Costume designers, stylists and the general public were able to meet the designers and see their work and work space. Designers not housed in the building displayed their designs in the hallways. Many offered samples at great prices for the holidays.

Designers participating in the Fashion Walk included ReVamp, Lucy B Lingerie, So, Porky Pies, T&R Hardware, Undiemoon, OT, Kidcosmic Inc., B. Jacquez, Frann, Mira Aster, Janu Creations, Kathryn Adorned, Jewels by Stephane, Thread Hounds, Sushi Shoes and Mary Landre.
