Slow Growth

U.S. employers added 57,000 workers to payroll in November, according to the U.S. Department of Labor, which also announced unemployment dropped to 5.9 percent, its lowest percentage since April. Analysts had been expecting great gains in new jobs, however, and blamed the ongoing grocery workers’ strike in California for keeping 23,000 off the payroll books.
