TALA Christmas

It was a full house at the Textile Association of Los Angeles’ 59th annual holiday party for neighborhood children. Held Dec. 19 in a suite on the 13th floor of the California Market Center, the party drew about 80 attendees. TALA members; CMC and industry executives; and teachers, caregivers and kids from several local children’s clubs—including the Salvation Army Red Shield Community Center, the Boys & Girls Club of Los Angeles, the Chinatown Service Center, the East Los Angeles Boys & Girls Club and the Flower House Domestic Violence Center—enjoyed the festivities. All were treated to ice cream, pastries, and other sweets and snacks. Once again, Narrow Fabrics’ Elena Guerrero and Josh Berman serenaded the crowd with holiday favorites. And TALA member Michael Goldman reprised the role of Santa with a few holiday-themed jokes. The children received gifts, distributed by Goldman and members of Girl Scout Spanish Trail Troop 427. Each child received toys donated by TALA members and participated in a drawing for other prizes. —Alison A. Nieder
