Camper Bows in Los Angeles

Quirky shoe manufacturer Camper has signed a deal to open its first Los Angeles unit, on Robertson Boulevard. The 1,800- square-foot location at 103 S. Robertson formerly housed the Parallel store, which closed about two months ago. It marks the fifth U.S. location for the Majorca-based company known for its peasant-inspired shoes that retail for $120 to $160. Camper joins other high-profile tenants on Robertson, including Lisa Kline, Curve and Agnes B. The lease took nine months as Camper explored more than 20 locations, according to broker Ed Sachse, who represented Camper in the deal.

“The Robertson space wasn’t even on the market, but [Parallel] had an opportunity to terminate its lease, and Camper took to the space,” Sachse said.

Camper has opened stores in San Francisco’s Union Square, New York, Boston and Chicago. Three more locations are planned for the Southern California market in the next few years. —Nola Sarkisian-Miller
