AAFA Sets Apparel Seminars

The American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA) will host two seminars on global manufacturing and marketing. The seminars will take place on May 30 in San Diego and June 12–14 in San Francisco.

The San Diego seminar, “Innovative Strategies & Solutions for Global Success,” will be held at the Rancho Bernardo Inn. It will feature sessions on production time, reverse auctions, sourcing trim and collaborative case studies, as well as a presentation on iPQa, a global quality system.

The San Francisco seminar, “The Age of Growth,” will be held at the Fairmont Hotel. It will include a keynote address by the president of El Salvador, Francisco Flores. Liz Claiborne’s chief executive officer, Paul Charron, will also join a group of apparel and technology executives—from companies including Jones Apparel Group, Wolverine World Wide, Levi Strauss, Russell Corp., SAP and others—for a range of panels and discussions. A golf tournament, tours of vineyards and an excursion to Muir Woods are also part of the event.

The AAFA is a Washington, D.C.-based trade organization that serves as a lobbying arm for the apparel industry and as a source for education, information and other services.
