Workers' Comp Reform?

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger kicked off his term with a proposal to cut $11 billion from the $29 billion workers’ compensation system. The governor’s proposal follows the legislature’s proposed cuts, which are expected to save about $5 billion. The additional cuts would be good news to California businesses, which have been struggling with escalating workers’ comp costs. But opponents argue such drastic reductions would be detrimental to injured workers.
