Hurley Expanding Into Irvine

Costa Mesa, Calif.–based Hurley International LLC just keeps growing. The surfwear company is moving its warehousing operations to a new 85,000-square-foot facility in Irvine, Calif., near John Wayne Airport.

The company has begun shifting its existing warehousing operations at its Costa Mesa headquarters to the new, more modern facility at 2900 McCabe Way, according to a company spokesperson. Hurley is contracting Palo Alto, Calif.–based Menlo Worldwide to oversee distribution at the new center and is hiring about 25 additional workers to accommodate the workload.

The move will free up space at Hurley’s 60,000-square-foot Costa Mesa headquarters, where the company plans to expand marketing and design efforts. Hurley has been busy expanding its line to include products such as shoes and accessories, as well as expanding its overseas account base.

Hurley is preparing to make its initial shipments to Europe this year and plans to expand its overall global distribution. Parent company Nike Inc., which purchased Hurley last year for an estimated $100 million, ultimately plans to facilitate Hurley’s global efforts. —R.M.
