Save Your Energy

Californians could be looking at another energy shortage, according to a recent report by the California Independent System Operator (Cal-ISO), which operates the state’s power grid. The state appears to have plenty of energy to get through California’s mild winter, but high temperatures, low production and scheduled plant closures could set the stage for power reserves to fall to emergency levels. According to Cal-ISO, a power emergency occurs when power reserves fall below 7 percent. Power reserves are expected to run between 34 and 41 percent this winter.
