Software Company Gets Bluefly Account

San Jose, Calif.–based software supplier Business Objects will supply New York–based Bluefly Inc. with its Enterprise 6 software application to help the Internet retailer organize data and build reports that analyze sales, inventory and customer information.

Bluefly, based in New York’s fashion district, sells more than 350 apparel, accessories and home-furnishings lines on its Web site, www.bluefly.com, at discounts of up to 75 percent. Using Business Objects’ software, the retailer will be able to view and create reports that will help managers track sales, manage inventory and adjust pricing.

The company’s marketing department will also use the program to analyze campaign effectiveness and customer profiles.

In addition, Bluefly will analyze its Web site with the program to determine what promotions or features are affecting conversion and to examine both up-sell and cross-sell opportunities.

Bluefly’s Matt Raines said the company wants to bring stability and enhancements to the extraction, transforming and loading processes of its Web site.
