Freeborders and Marc Jacobs in Software Deal

Marc Jacobs International LLC will employ the Product Lifecycle Management suite from San Francisco–based Freeborders Inc. to increase supply-chain efficiency.

Marc Jacobs, creative director of Louis Vuitton—whose parent company, LVMH Moeuml;t Hennessy Louis Vuitton, is the world’s largest luxury goods company—said the company is becoming more interested in technology to help manage the constant changes in the industry.

Freeborders’ solutions allow for parties in the product development process—including designers, merchandisers, agents and sourcing partners—to collaborate on production through a central server to help eliminate the snags and obstacles that can occur during production.
