Buchalter Dies at 66
Buchalter, Nemer, Fields & Younger counsel Stuart Buchalter died unexpectedly on Jan. 6 while traveling in New York. He was 66.
A well-connected figure in the apparel industry, Buchalter was non-executive chairman of New York–based manufacturer Warnaco Group, chairman of the board of trustees for Otis College of Art and Design and director of City National Corp.
He joined Warnaco’s board in 2000 and helped turn the company around as a member of the board’s restructuring committee, which saw the company emerge from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in February 2003.
Buchalter is survived by his wife, Gail, children Stephanie, Michael, Douglas and Melissa, and two grandchildren.
Services are set for Jan. 9 at 10 a.m. at University Synagogue in Los Angeles.
