Tukatech Enters Dress Form Market

Los Angeles–based Tukatech Inc. is entering the dress form business. The company has rolled out a new line of 3-D dress forms called TukaForms.

The forms are developed from data taken during 3-D body scans of live fit models and are made from a blend of composites intended to replicate a human-like feel. As a result, the forms allow for more realistic draping effects during the fitting process, said Tukatech officials.

“Our objective is to reduce the product development time and cost,” said Tukatech Chief Executive Officer Ram Sareen. “TukaForms allows us to have a cloned fit model at any manufacturing facility in the world.”

Sareen said the forms are competitively priced. Standard models are available for immediate deliveries.

Paul Clarke, vice president of operations, added the company has already received orders from several major retailers, designers and manufacturers.

“Our fit model will neither put on weight nor complain about not getting paid for the fit session,” Clarke joked.

The forms are available as a whole or in torso constructions with detachable arms and a range of cup sizes for bra and swimwear fittings. —Robert McAllister
