Tukatech Launches Internet-based Sample Making

Los Angeles–based Tukatech Inc. has launched a sample-making service through its TukaWeb Internet division.

The company is offering first-run, production and showroom sample making with 24- to 48-hour turnarounds plus shipping times.

The samples are made at the company’s TukaCenter studios in India and Sri Lanka, where about 125 workers are based. Patterns must be generated through a CAD (computer-aided design) system. Samples are made with fabrics from the company’s available fabric supplies or through sample yardage provided by the client.

The service can be accessed at www.tukaweb.com. Fees range from $30 to $100. TukaWeb also offers patternmaking, grading, marker-making and data conversion services. —Robert McAllister
